Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – BC Children’s & Women’s Hospital Fraser Health Authority is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for a Relief Full Time position in the Emergency department at BC Children’s & Women’s Hospital, located in Vancouver / Richmond, BC. This role will be available until approximately February 2026 or until the incumbent returns. Salary: CAD $53.31 – $66.63 per hour. Key Responsibilities Consult with internal and external health care professionals on advanced pharmaceutical care. Provide clinical direction on complex cases, evaluate drug therapies, attend patient care rounds, and offer drug information, education, and discharge recommendations. Maintain quality assurance programs, audit policies, and recommend improvements. Provide academic teaching to undergraduate and post‑graduate students, coordinate curriculum and practicum. Initiate and oversee clinical drug research, analyze data, and publish findings. Conduct pharmacological education/in‑service sessions and orientation for staff. Participate in the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, preparing materials for formulary decisions. Support therapeutic cost‑effectiveness and cost‑resistance programs. Represent the department on multidisciplinary care committees and external events. Deliver pharmaceutical care, review patient charts, identify drug‑related problems, and monitor outcomes. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia. Completion of an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program. Post‑graduate Doctor of Pharmacy degree. One year of pharmacy experience in the designated specialty area. Skills and Abilities Effective verbal and written communication, including presentations. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with health practitioners and patients. Ability to coach, mentor, teach, and facilitate learning. Ability to design curricula and conduct performance evaluations. Independent recommendation and monitoring of pharmacotherapeutic plans. Use of focused physical assessment for drug efficacy/toxicity. Retrieval and evaluation of drug literature. Project leadership and coordination. Clinical research design and publication. Prioritization in collaboration with others. Operational use of related equipment. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
