Fire Investigator - Full Time (Halifax, Nova Scotia)Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences is currently seeking a Fire Investigator in the Halifax, Nova Scotia area who is dynamic, motivated, and passionate about their career to support our expansion in Atlantic Canada.The successful applicant will be responsible for performing forensic fire investigations to determine the origin and cause for structure and vehicle fires. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs is a must. Good presentation skills are an asset. Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and other stakeholders.By joining a successful team like Pario, you will have the opportunity to work on projects in various areas such as: industrial, commercial (retail/office), residential, institutional, and environmental.In this position, you will join a highly creative and collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence. A willingness to travel is a must.Responsibilities:Assess, analyze and report on the origin and cause of firesInterview witnesses, service personnel and other local officialsInspections shall include, but not be limited to, roofs, attics, crawlspaces, partially destroyed buildings, fire damaged buildings, and elevated structuresAble to recognize potential subrogation opportunitiesThe ability to climb, work at heights, and work in all temperatures is requiredThe ability to assess the general safety of fire damaged structures is essentialLead project(s) from start to finishProvide clear, accurate, and timely reportsQualifications:Minimum CFEI, CFI, or CVFI, or the ability to become certified is a mustMinimum 3-5 years’ relevant work experiencePreferably including a strong background in fire investigation or equivalent work experienceExperience within the insurance and legal industry is a mustA demonstrated track record of taking projects to successful completionProficient in standard Microsoft Office (MS Word, Outlook & Excel)A strong understanding of the Fire CodeClass G driver’s license or equivalent as recognized by Province of employmentPositive, self-driven, motivated, personal attitudeA willingness and passion to support the marketing and sales department through attendance at presentations and industry eventsCustomer facing experience: Ability to discuss projects budgets with clients and maintain continuous communications throughout the projectSCM Insurance Services and affiliates welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
