OverviewJoin to apply for the Independent Consultant - Wholesale role at NMG Consulting.NMG conducts an annual Global Asset Management Study across 19 countries in North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. The study focuses on investment preferences, placement factors, and the views of asset managers. The opportunity is a part-time Independent Consultant position to work with NMG on the Global Asset Management Study in Canada. The interview cycle is during August to December and may occur on an annual basis thereafter. This role is suited to a highly experienced and self-motivated individual with a strong understanding of asset management in Canada, offering flexible working arrangements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct 10 or more interviews with decision makers who influence investment decisions, including fund manager liaison and selection, in wholesale asset management in Canada (e.g. retail or private banks, discretionary asset managers, life insurers, fund platforms, fund research houses, multi-managers and independent financial advisors) Utilize your network to identify executives appropriate to participate in the study Support NMG’s strategy and insights consulting practice in understanding the key themes and insights from the research study and sharing findings back with participants Your Experience The successful candidate is most likely retired or semi-retired but still seeking to remain in contact with the asset management industry. Ideally, they would demonstrate these abilities: 10+ years of experience in the asset management industry with an existing network within the Canada wholesale/retail asset management industry Ability to form relationships and gauge the thinking of key decision makers Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work effectively with a global team of consultants Excellent attention to detail and high-quality standards It is envisioned that this role will be performed on a contract basis, over several days per week for a period of 3 to 4 months, with the potential to contribute on an annual basis.
