We offer opportunities for learning, growth, and development, plus a focus on health, safety, and well-being.Job SummaryNow, if you were to come on board as our Catering Manager, here’s what we’dask you to do:Lead and support the Operations team on day of eventsCollaborate on menu planning with clients and Executive Chef, and identify revenue opportunitiesAssist in production, hiring, employee training, staff scheduling, supervision, and employee relationsDevelop the team and provide performance improvement programsFull cycle sales including qualifying leads, site visits, negotiating contractsMeet and greet clients, conduct tastings, promote services, and answer client inquiriesPrepare quotes, contracts and letters, and organize arrangements for corporate and social eventsRespond to booking inquiries in a timely mannerConsult with clients to realize their event vision and objectivesSchedule and coordinate client meetings and appointmentsWork with customers through the contract process and propose solutions as neededDevelop leads, secure re-bookings and assist with promotionsParticipate in weekly revenue meetings and prepare sales reportsIdentify opportunities to maximize revenue through up-selling and enhancementsManage client relationships in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentContribute to marketing materials and attend industry events to promote the venueMaintain knowledge of operations, policies and procedures for Gourmet CuisineInput data into systems to generate account history reportsMaintain orderly sales files and confidentiality of sensitive informationDevelop relationships with meeting/event planners and funeral homes for promotionsReview competitors’ pricing and web presence as part of market awarenessParticipate in training, regional initiatives and meetingsRole RequirementsMinimum 2 years of experience in a Catering Sales Manager role for a catering company, venue or hotelHigh school diploma, college or university degree or relevant work experience preferredStrong organizational and time management skills; able to work with minimal supervisionProven decision making, analytical and problem-solving skillsPositive attitude, flexible and motivated to succeedDependable, self-disciplined and team-oriented with strong attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skillsProficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; ability to learn new softwareKnowledge of catering software is an assetExceptional customer relationship management skillsFlexibility to work evenings and weekends as requiredAdditional InformationCompass Group Canada is committed to nurturing a diverse workforce representative of the communities where we operate.
