Department / Unit: Thompson Hospital Diagnostic Imaging. Job Stream: Clinical. Union: MAHCP. FTE: 1.00. Anticipated Shift: Days; Evenings; Weekends; Non-Repeating (non-conforming). Work Arrangement: In Person. Home base is to be determined on employee placement. The position may be scheduled on the mobile unit or at the base site. The base site may be used for overtime shifts or if the northern magnet is not in use (travel/ routine maintenance, downtime).Salary: See base salary grid. Must be able to work flexible work schedules including weekends and evenings, and willing to travel (drive and fly) to communities across Manitoba, including Northern and remote communities.Valid Manitoba driver license preferred. If applicable, please provide current drivers abstract upon hire. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position ResponsibilitiesThe General Duty MRI Technologist performs diagnostic MRI scans in accordance with procedures established within the MRI Department under the general supervision of the Charge Medical Technologist or designate. The incumbent maintains a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines, ensures compliance with quality assurance programs, and upholds Accreditation standards. Functions are conducted in alignment with Shared Health mission, values, policies, procedures and applicable legislation.ExperiencePrevious related experience in MRI preferred.Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving Systems (PACS).EducationGraduate of an approved MRI training program with successful completion of the CAMRT registration examinations.Certification/Licensure/RegistrationEligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and registration within CAMRT within three months of hire.Current BCLS within the past 12 months or BCLS Instructor Certificate.Qualifications And SkillsWindows computer environment proficiency; Microsoft Office programs preferred.Demonstrated competency in manipulation and selection of MR images; excellent dexterity operating diagnostic instrumentation per scope of practice.Ability to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual (French and English) may be required.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.Proficient analytical skills; ability to work under pressure; maintains confidentiality of information.Must be able to perform duties as described.Additional information: We welcome applications from people with disabilities.
