As we expand with new guest cabins and an on-site coffee shop, we’re looking for an Operations & Maintenance Manager to help shape our next chapter.The RoleYou’ll take the lead in daily operations and maintenance, introducing digital systems that make our work smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable. You’ll guide and support a small team, manage budgets with care, coordinate suppliers, and drive the building and expansion efforts that shape the future of our guesthouse. This is a hands‑on leadership role that blends operational oversight with practical improvements to the property. Your work will directly transform ideas into real improvements for our staff, our guests, and our growing business.What You’ll DoOversee daily operations, maintenance, and housekeepingLead sustainability and expansion projects, including new cabins and the coffee shopRecruit, train, and guide a small multi‑functional teamManage budgets, suppliers, and quality standardsImplement digital tools for reservations, maintenance tracking, and guest experienceSupport marketing activities, including online and social media efforts (positioning us as an AI‑forward frontrunner)Ensure guests enjoy a consistently warm and professional experienceWhat You Bring5+ years of experience in hospitality or operations management, including hands‑on experience with building projects (coordinating contractors/builders)Experience in project management, including oversight of timelines, risks, budgets, and deliveryCollege diploma (or equivalent experience) in Hospitality, Business, Engineering, or a related fieldStrong organizational, leadership, and people‑management skillsComfortable using and creating digital/AI systems and social‑media tools for marketing, innovation, and building MVPsSolid financial acumen, including experience with sales, marketing and revenue managementValid driver’s licence and access to transportationLanguage: English required; other European language considered an asset (German, Dutch, or other).Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, free parking, and on‑site role (no remote work).How To ApplyRumi House will be accepting applications for this position via the Cape Breton Job Board.
