About the Role Health Care Aide – Alberta Health Services – Join our team at Assisted Living Alberta to provide professional support services in client homes, ensuring quality care and safety. The position is based out of the Fort Saskatchewan Home Care office, supporting the Suburban/Rural East team with required travel. Responsibilities Work as a collaborative member of the multi‑disciplinary team providing personal assistance, including activities of daily living and support services to clients requiring short‑term or ongoing assistance, in accordance with care plans and facility policies. Assist nurses with routine care to meet patients’ hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; observe and report on clients’ mood and wellbeing; maintain a safe environment and effective communication with patients and health professionals. Required Qualifications Completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory, with confirmation of enrollment. For nursing students: enrollment in an approved Alberta nursing program with at least 100 practicum hours, either 1st year of practical nursing or 2nd year of baccalaureate/psychiatric nursing. Basic Cardiac Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP). Strong communication, assessment, and health‑safety application skills; ability to prioritize, schedule, and work independently in varied home settings. Physical ability to lift and carry medical bags (~25‑30 lbs) and operate in diverse weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in health care working with older or chronically ill individuals. Medication Assistance Certificate or prior experience in medication assistance.
