In this role as an R&D Coordinator, the individual will report and support the R&D Scientist during plant trials and first production, updating and revising recipes in the system, testing products/raw materials, and troubleshooting on the line while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Health & Safety, product safety, and customer satisfaction. Will demonstrate, promote and exemplify the Company’s Core Values in Health & Safety, People, Quality/ Food Safety and Growth. Responsibilities Assist in organizing plant trials in collaboration with purchasing, planning, QA and operations teams. Execute plant trials and document results and prepare reports for the completed trials/tests in a timely manner. Manage R&D raw materials inventory (reception, labeling, storing and updating R&D bin tracking file). Monitor first production of new products and ensure adherence to product quality. Provide support for product renovation and recipe consolidation. Assist in new raw materials testing in the plant. Maintain the ingredient substitution list by being involved in the ingredient consolidation process. Initiate the creation and revision of recipes in SAP and keep recipe change log file up to date. Assist with day‑to‑day concerns or issues in production at both 575 and 610, with regards to product quality, including raw materials sensory/testing and process validation. Collect data and validate as R&D offers support to Engineering and Manufacturing Departments. Conduct sensory evaluation of products from plant trials/production monitoring and VQS preparation. Collect raw materials/finished products required by PDC Montreal and arrange for shipment. Prepare product sample requests for sales team and customers. Maintain a clean and organized R&D kitchen and surrounding work areas. Assist with filing and organizing R&D files. Implement and adhere to company’s Food Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures, including SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure food safety and quality of products manufactured. Requirements Science degree or equivalent experience. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent computer skills. Detail oriented. Working Conditions Flexible hours (as needed). Available to work weekends (as needed).
