Mobile Lab Patient Technician Temporary Part‑time (0–20 hours per week). 1 position, located in Pembroke, ON. Start date: ASAP. Contract end date: 12 months. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education) plus a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and personal vehicle. Fully vaccinated for Covid‑19, including a booster shot. Responsibilities Organize a daily schedule of visits to facilities and private residences to collect specimens as per physicians’ requests, planning your route according to courier times, specimen integrity, and required travel time. Perform phlebotomies, connect and disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings. Collect and deliver specimens to designated labs for testing. Accession, spin, separate and prepare specimens for transport to the reference lab as required. Book patient appointments, request required information from patients, explain the specimen collection process and ensure patients have followed necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection. Liaise with doctors, facility staff, and CCAC staff regarding patient problems, changes in scheduling, specimen collection procedures, and other matters. Requirements Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and vehicle access. Successful criminal reference check. Phlebotomy experience. Excellent communication skills to enable you to relate with a wide variety of people. Problem‑solving skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet. Ability to maintain strict standards of patient privacy and confidentiality. ECG training or experience is an asset.
