We’re building a new Cloud Platform & Tools - Network engineering team, and we’re looking for an Engineering Manager to help shape it from the ground up. This team owns the core networking infrastructure that powers 1Password—including service mesh, DNS, ingress/egress, connectivity and routing, VPN, L4/L7 network policy, and CDN integration. What We’re Looking For Experience managing a team of engineers. Significant experience with cloud‑native infrastructure and backend technologies. The ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment where everyone is supported, encouraged, and challenged. Capable of driving delivery of projects and creating roadmaps for future work. You have helped a team scale both themselves and the services they are responsible for. Experience managing a remote team. What You Can Expect Help set and support strategic direction for the Cloud Platform & Tools - Networking team. Drive alignment and be responsible for the results of the team in support of broader company objectives. Collaborate with senior individual contributors to create an engaging technical vision for your team. Work with cross‑functional partners to define the best solutions for customers, both internal and external. Scope and plan key deliverables for projects and initiatives with the team. Drive execution with an emphasis on iterations, quality, velocity, and communication. Provide technical leadership to developers both in your team and across the engineering organization. Coach individual contributors to help them reach their full potential. Recruit and retain top‑tier talent in a fast‑growing environment. Continue scaling a highly specialized engineering team by working with other Engineering Managers to refine hiring, onboarding, and development processes. For this role, you can be located within the US or Canada and will be expected to be fully remote. Compensation USA‑based roles only: The annual base salary ranges from $190,000 to $258,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s benefits program, generous paid time off, equity grant, and incentive programs. Canada‑based roles only: The annual base salary ranges from $172,000 to $232,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program, paid time off, equity grant, and incentive programs.
