Scouting with Central Ontario FS over the summer is an amazing opportunity to do this If you love the outdoors, working independently and are interested in learning about weed ID, crop staging, insects and diseases, this position offers a fun, unforgettable summer with valuable experience for your agriculture career.Use integrated pest management (IPM) techniques, satellite imagery and GPS technology to document notes from the field that include weeds, insects, diseases and other yield limiting threats. Represent Central Ontario FS on the road and in our growers\' fields. Be curious, ask questions, and get the most out of your summer. We provide you the necessary tools to have a great summer while growing your knowledge and experience of the agriculture industry.ResponsibilitiesUse IPM techniques, satellite imagery and GPS technology to document field notes on weeds, insects, diseases and other yield limiting threats.Represent Central Ontario FS in growers\' fields and on the road.Be curious, ask questions, and gain practical experience in agronomy during the summer.QualificationsNormally requires an individual currently enrolled in an agriculture-related college or university program, with a basic understanding of production agriculture.Must be at least 18 years of age.Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.Must have and maintain a valid driver\'s license (Full G), a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to travel independently as needed.Occasionally exposed or required to work in extreme conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.).Ability to walk crop fields and conduct visual inspections of crops.Willingness to participate in required training related to GROWMARK\'s policies and position requirements.May be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.About UsCentral Ontario FS is a retail division of GROWMARK, INC. that serves local producers across Central and Southern Ontario.
