We are seeking a full-time family physician to take over an existing practice in beautiful Port Alberni, serving a patient panel of 1700.
The current physician is retiring but will stay on through the transition, ensuring a smooth handover. Our bright and modern clinic uses MedAccess EMR, and our two experienced Medical Office Assistants provide friendly support.
This practice is part of a larger group of independently working physicians who cover each other during vacation times, providing flexibility and work-life balance.
You will have opportunities to work in obstetrics, as a hospitalist, and in the emergency room at the nearby West Coast General Hospital.
Port Alberni boasts a new Primary Care Network that offers additional support to area clinics, including nurse practitioners and visiting pharmacists.
Key Highlights- Opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including obstetrics, hospital medicine, and emergency room care
- Part of a larger group of independently working physicians for coverage and collaboration

- Modern clinic with electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Estimated salary range: $250,000 - $350,000 per year
- May be eligible for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA)
- RSA benefits include:
- Recruitment Incentive: $10,000
- Fee Premium: 7.98%
- Annual Flat Fee: $12,110.22
- Rural CME starting at $2,200/annum in year 3&4, increasing to a maximum of $4,400/annum after 4 years
Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC is required.
