Community Engagement & Communications Coordinator We are currently searching for a Community Engagement and Communications Coordinator in our Calgary office. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, confidence interacting with new people and members of the public, and an ability to take initiative and solve problems. This position is part of an established, multidisciplinary team working on complex, high-profile infrastructure projects in Calgary and southern Alberta. Your responsibilities will include: Monitoring project inboxes, drafting responses to public inquiries, and ensuring responses are provided in a timely manner. Identifying and managing risk, reducing exposure to risk and protecting organizational and project reputations. Coordinating reviews with senior and/or technical team members to ensure information included in materials is accurate and suitable for the intended audience. Developing materials such as display boards, newsletters, FAQ, website content, and construction notices. Identifying relevant and/or impacted parties to build stakeholder lists. Building, maintaining, and regularly updating communications logs and stakeholder registries. Developing comprehensive engagement and communications strategies for large‑scale infrastructure projects for review. Assisting with strategy implementation during project delivery. Attending and coordinating logistics for public and stakeholder engagement events such as meetings and information sessions, transporting and setting up associated materials. Transcribing engagement feedback and developing engagement summary reports. Consolidating, theming, and summarizing data, supporting the development of engagement summaries and other reports. Taking minutes at internal meetings and external engagement events. Supporting event/meeting facilitation. Visiting project sites as required. Miscellaneous assignments on an as‑needed basis, such as award submissions, project summaries, or internal communications initiatives. Job Requirements – What you will bring: University degree/post‑secondary diploma in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or equivalent experience in public engagement, communication or marketing. 3+ years’ experience in a comparable role. Motivated with a strong will to learn and develop your skillset. Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to distill and simplify complex technical information. Strong proficiency in drafting, proofreading, and editing written materials independently. Strong organizational, attention to detail and time‑management skills. Ability to prioritize and solve problems individually and as part of a team environment. Ability to remain calm, collected, empathetic, and professional in difficult situations. Professional writing experience including plain language, web‑content, internal and external communications, or the ability to demonstrate strong writing skills and an understanding of how to tailor communications to different audiences.
