The Lightspeed Program Management Office Manager will help drive the Telesat Lightspeed Program by coordinating information, providing support through data analysis, and contributing to overall strategy and performance evaluation of the program. You will be responsible for program reporting and monitoring in relation to schedule and risk management.

The Lightspeed Program Management Office is part of the Lightspeed Program Delivery team and helps to drive the Lightspeed Program by coordinating project schedules into the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), conducting program analytics, risk reviews, and multi-dimensional reporting thus contributing to the overall strategic development and performance evaluation of complex program operations.

Manage a team’s activities, resource allocation, and reviews.Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, ensuring projects align with Lightspeed business and engineering goals.Bring expert level experience in overseeing the development and maintenance of the Lightspeed Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) including conducting ongoing gaps analysis.Tracking the progress of each individual project and the Lightspeed IMS as a whole.Developing/maintaining the Lightspeed program plan and providing guidance to the segment project managers for their project plans.Reviewing documentation for project creation, development and implementation.Analyzing financial data.Distributing and allocating PMO resources.Calculating risk for each project.Creating reports for senior managers and stakeholders.Participate in strategic planning with regards to program development.Create and maintain Program communications to the full Lightspeed development team and senior management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, and work experience.
  • 6-9 years of experience in project analysis, project management, project oversight and coordination.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management, collaboration and productivity and reporting tools/methodologies.
  • Experienced and skilled in the use of planning and scheduling tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in dealing with clients, internal and external stakeholders, senior management and staff.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Must demonstrate a flexible, open-minded attitude and have strong interpersonal skills.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Assets:
  • 10+ years experience working in an engineering environment in a management capacity, interfacing with Hardware, Systems, Software, and Test Engineers.
  • Experienced in the use of MS Project and Jira.
  • Bilingual in English and French an asset (but not required).
