Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) - Radiography Position Summary Are you ready to embark on a thrilling journey in the heart of diagnostic imaging and radiology? Our Diagnostic Imaging/Radiology Unit is the bustling hub of activity across all four of our sites, imaging inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department cases, while supporting critical departments such as the OR, Fracture Clinic, and Endoscopy. Opportunities for growth and advancement abound, with potential to become a Senior or Charge Technologist and expand skills in modalities such as mammography and CT scans. The role offers dynamic scheduling—days, evenings, nights, and on‑call rotations—within a tight‑knit team that stays connected through regular touchpoints and education sessions. Required Graduate of an accredited program of Medical Imaging – Radiography Registration with OAMRS/CAMRT is preferred; possess valid liability insurance as defined by the CMRITO Member in good standing of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) Initiative, organizational, and decision‑making skills are essential Strong computer skills Excellent communication skills with physicians, patients, and other healthcare team members Ability to cope with a physically demanding workload Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays Duties Perform all general and special radiography procedures according to the Standards of Practice Perform Quality Assurance procedures as set by department standards Ensure adequate levels of products and supplies to support daily operations Archive and retrieve data to/from PACS Report equipment deficiencies to the Charge Technologist/Manager Instruct students during clinical rotation when required and assist in evaluating student progress Assist in orientation and training of new technologists Provide high‑quality service with a philosophy of continuous improvement Communicate courteously with all co‑workers and patients Participate in continuing education to grow professionally Maintain a general working knowledge of the provision of Diagnostic Imaging services, policies, and procedures Perform other duties as assigned from time to time Assigned duties in CT Physical Demands Analysis Strength Required frequently – lifting and carrying, pushing/pulling Mobility Required frequently – standing and walking on hard surfaces Required occasionally – crouching/squatting Required frequently – bending/stooping, breathing, twisting/turning, reaching Dexterity Required frequently – handling objects, gripping/grasping, neck, elbow, shoulder and wrist movement, reaching Required frequently – fine finger movement Job Details Seniority level: Entry level Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Health Care Provider Industries: Hospitals and Health Care Equal Opportunity Quinte Health is an equal opportunity employer committed to meeting the needs under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
