One of the ways we've set ourselves apart in the Edmonton investment landscape is by running our own equity research program. Rather than relying on paid research or passive investment products Qube's research culminates into two discretionary portfolios, Kaleo Full and Kaleo A. Qube is seeking three students to join our Qube Analyst Program (QAP). As part of the role, the successful applicants will complete Qube's equity boot camp. The material covered is equivalent to many of the materials covered in the CFA level one and two curricula. Working in the Qube Analyst program prepares students to write the CFA Level 1 exam in the final year of their degrees. Program Outline: January - April 2026 (10 hours per week): During the winter term, students will spend their first weeks in our equity bootcamp, learning the fundamentals of their role as equity analysts. The scope of bootcamp includes quantitative and qualitative teachings, with the goal to develop the skill necessary to determine and define intrinsic share values, and trends in key valuation factors. Qube also hosts regular CFA study sessions to prepare students for their CFA Level 1 exams during the school year. Sessions may be led by various professional staff at Qube. May – August 2026 (35 hours per week): In the first summer of working at Qube, students are mentored by one of our Portfolio Managers, with emphasis on honing their skills when it comes to the fundamentals of valuation techniques. Students will assist in evaluating and rating equity investments currently held in Qube portfolios, while also working under the direction of the portfolio steering committee to complete equity valuations on prospective investments for the portfolio. Each student will be given a special assignment to supplement their experience. Depending on availability, they may also write articles on their research. September 2026 – April 2027 (10 hours per week): While back at school, students will continue to focus on completing equity valuations on prospective investments for the portfolio. Depending on availability, they may also write articles on their research. May – August 2027 (20 to 35 hours per week): During the second summer at Qube, students are given the opportunity to work part-time 3 to 4 days per week. The additional time-off is to give students time to study for the CFA Level 1 exam, with an additional full week off before the exam sitting. When not studying, students continue to focus on completing equity valuations on prospective investments for the portfolio, and undertaking special assignments. Depending on students’ graduation dates, Qube continues to offer employment during their final semesters. First Year Pay: $24/hr Second Year Pay: $24 to $25/hr 50% reimbursement for the exam and program fee upon passing the CFA Level 1 exam Your Experience: Completion of FIN 301 or equivalent coursework.
