This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of the evolving energy production landscape.RRC CORE VALUESMust understand and personify RRC’s core values:Client Satisfaction – understands the goal of always exceeding our client’s expectations.Employee Happiness – able to work well with others, communicate clearly with coworkers, promote a positive work environment, and mediate conflicts between team members.Quality Work - able to take ownership, work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time while working on multiple projects simultaneously.Above and Beyond - versatile, flexible, able to anticipate the needs of the company, take the initiative, and willing to go out of your way to assist others.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDiscuss project requirements with the client while delivering value engineeringAnalyze survey, mapping, and materials-testing data to complete work assignments using computer modelling softwareCreate and review drawings using CAD tools.Assess the environmental impact and risk connected to projectsBid proposal supportManage multiple projectsComply with guidelines and regulations including permits, health and safety, and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.Deliver civil engineering designs and optimization in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and industry practicesDay-to-day management of assigned projectsPlan, define project tasks, schedule, and deliver on-time execution of civil scope of work and project deliverablesWorkclosely with RRC Director of Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Managers and Project Managers in the successful execution of workBe responsive to the needs of the client and project requirementsUp to 20% travel is expected and can include overnight stays for several daysJobsite visits require ability to traverse uneven or rough terrain, including bending, stooping, twisting, and climbingSitting is involved for most of the day while in the office, but a raised desk workstation is availableMinimal lifting requirement of 20 pounds or less on an infrequent basisMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)Minimum 5-7 years of civil engineering consulting and design experience.Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.Hold Professional Engineering (P.Eng) license in Canada or ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire.Experience in permitting support, engineering, and construction.Proven experience in civil engineering for renewable energy projects (wind, solar, BESS, etc.).Ability to work within a matrix organization.Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills with emphasis on client service.Self-starter with independent judgment.Multi-tasking capabilities and able to change focus quickly.Possess valid Canadian Driver’s License.Ability to work onsite from our Calgary, Alberta or Toronto, Ontario office.Additional duties as required.Knowledge of informatics:Microsoft Office Suite.Microsoft Project.Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 2D, FLO2D or similar.PVCase or similar.General knowledge of BIM processes and applicationsBENEFITSRRC is committed to investing in talented employees because we recognize that healthy, happy employees provide the best path to sustaining a successful business.
