Manager, Amusement & Entertainment Technical Support

What you will do: The Manager of Amusement & Entertainment will provide technical support for both existing and any new Location Based Entertainment venues, by supporting and working directly with the leadership teams in the venues and ensuring all gaming, amusement equipment, systems and AV equipment are in working order in all Location Based Entertainment venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementation and operational support of all amusement and entertainment technology. Along with any other additional responsibility and/or job requirement as determined and assigned by Cineplex as part of this role.
  • Game Management
    • Lead the game rotation logistics, game floor plan, and implementation.
    • Game and payout settings and calibration.
    • Monitors reports and provides analysis and recommendations to management (payout reports, parts order tracker, downtime report, etc.)
    • Liaise between the manufacturer and LBE sites for game updates and troubleshooting.
    • Assists in game testing and data collection.
    • Co-manage amusement inspections by internal and external regulatory bodies.
  • Repairs & Maintenance
    • Oversees the downtime report and ensure quick resolution of damaged games.
    • Assists in securing suppliers that can efficiently address the needs of the business.
    • Assists in negotiating the best rates for parts, services, shipping, and payment terms, leveraging the volume from all sites.
    • Ensure that sites are getting the best service, timely delivery, and paying industry rate for parts, services, and logistics.
    • Maintain a productive relationship with suppliers and minimize deviation from SLA.
    • Monitors the R&M spend and alerts and provides recommendations to the General Manager and Tech Manager
    • Liaise between supplier and Cineplex Finance to manage Accounts Payables
  • A/V Management
    • Ongoing support of Entertainment and Groups & Events A/V equipment to ensure operations and service standards are met.
    • Work closely with the Entertainment, Groups & Events, and venue technical teams to support and address all operational or equipment concerns.
    • Work with third party equipment providers for all A/V parts and equipment ordering.
    • Review A/V drawings and equipment quotes for new build and retrofit projects ensuring they capture the requirements of the Entertainment and Groups & Events teams.
    • Support training and operational components of A/V equipment.
    • Manage A/V equipment annual maintenance schedules.
Develop and maintain best practice models and ensure standardization of practices for:
  • Downtime report
  • Repair procedures and parts sourcing.
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Game rotation
  • Cineplex Academy training materials
Provide direction on equipment and layouts for gaming, attractions and entertainment equipment for new venues.Travel to venues is required as part of the role in any Province we operate in and approval to do so is decided by the Director. Additionally the role will provide on-site support pre and post opening, training and skills development with venues technical managers, and support their onboarding.Support the management teams, Regional Executive Director’s and key department leaders.

Education & Certification

  • University or College Degree in relevant discipline preferred.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in gaming and/or Amusement

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 5-8 years of management experience in operations and/or retail.
  • Experience with gaming equipment repairs and/or electronics.
  • Experience diagnosing and using preventative measures for gaming equipment.
  • Expert knowledge of amusement, attractions and entertainment equipment principles, equipment operation.
  • Reviewing and marking up floor plans using software such as Bluebeam or AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience with live venue equipment and audio/visual systems and technology.
  • Clear communication skills with ability to articulate concepts both written and verbally.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Experience in supporting and training multiple sites.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and back-office programming.
  • Experience with new store openings is an asset.
  • An acumen to learn how to use a variety of systems such as EMBED, Intercard, MS Office tools, SharePoint.
