About the Position:As a Web Developer at Equiton, you will play a crucial role in our digital marketing team. You’ll ensure the smooth operation, optimization, and enhancement of our website to drive high-quality leads. This position contributes directly to improving user experience and conversion rates through innovative web solutions, helping the company achieve its lead generation and growth goals. Reporting to the Director, Digital Marketing, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement front-end improvements and ensure our website remains cutting-edge in performance and user experience.
- Proven ability to enhance site performance, usability, and accessibility across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to implement on-page SEO strategies.
- Monitor and maintain website security, including SSL certificates and regular plugin updates.
- Build, update, and optimize landing pages to enhance user experience and increase conversion rates.
- Set up tracking tools to monitor campaign performance and lead generation.
- Ensure all website elements align with campaign tracking requirements, enabling accurate attribution and reporting.
- Perform regular updates on the website, including content changes, bug fixes, and feature additions.
- Ensure the website runs smoothly with minimal downtime or technical issues.
- Work closely with the design team to implement front-end improvements aligned with branding and digital marketing campaigns.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console) to track visitor behavior and performance.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and data regulations like GDPR.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting the marketing team and website users.
- The Web Developer is accountable for maintaining a high-functioning website that drives lead generation. Poor decision-making could result in website downtime, security vulnerabilities, and reduced performance, which would negatively impact marketing efforts and lead conversion.
- The web developer will collaborate with marketing, design, and external vendors. The candidate will be expected to coordinate website-related tasks, ensuring deadlines are met and goals are achieved.
- The web developer may need to present ideas and performance metrics to senior management and make recommendations for improvements.
- Expertise in WordPress development, including theme and plugin customization.
- Expertise in implementing and managing tracking systems for digital campaigns.
- Proficient in SEO best practices and optimization techniques.
- Knowledge of website security protocols (SSL, regular plugin updates).
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and apply creative solutions.
- Familiarity with GDPR along with experience in Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and other compliance regulations.
- Successful completion of a university degree or college diploma in digital communications, web design or a related field. li>
- 3+ years of experience in WordPress development.
- Demonstrated success in optimizing websites for performance, speed, and conversions.
- This role requires independent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions regarding website performance, security, and compliance and SEO. The developer will also be responsible for proactively identifying technical issues and resolving them before they impact performance.
