The City of Dryden is seeking a qualified, self-motivated professional to join our Finance Department as the Deputy Treasurer. Under the direction of the Treasurer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Public Sector Accounting Guidelines (PSAG), general ledger maintenance, and preparing financial reports. This position requires close collaboration with various departments to establish and maintain capital asset ledgers. The Deputy Treasurer also assists with budgeting, annual audits, cash management, investments, grant reporting, and provides research and recommendations on financial policies.

You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the finance department overseeing the accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax collection, and utility billing personnel.

Position Requirements:

  1. Must possess a degree in Accounting/Finance.
  2. Completed or working towards obtaining a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation considered an asset.
  3. Fundamental understanding of municipal finances, accounting, or related fields.
  4. Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Board Standards (PSAB).
  5. Knowledge of the Municipal Act and other legislation affecting municipal finances.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft applications and financial software and systems (Vadim).
