An equal opportunity employer prizing diversity, integrity and collaboration, we are committed to growing MDA’s and Canada’s leadership in this next golden age.RôleProvide Satellite and Payloads Architecture for Electrical Power design and EMC, bus power sizing, definition, performance analysis, implementation and validation in support of MDA Satellite System engineering Team.TasksSatellite & Payload complete Electrical, EMC and Harness designVerification and Validation of Electrical and Power ArchitectureSatellite Bus power sizing suitable to particular missionsDefinition of power systems from Solar arrays to batterySupport to mission analysis & requirementsDefine, analyse and write requirements definition and flowdown, SOC, verification and validation matrix, design description, systems budgets, equipment specifications, test requirements… for the power sub-systems based on mission requirements.Monitor MDA’s suppliers and integrated product teamProvide inputs and support to all program reviews including EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR.Attend all test reviews TRR, TRB, DRB, and NCRs.Support sub-system Assembly, Integration and Test activities.Support Satellite testing: EGSE, Test supervision, data analysisSupport Satellite tests at MDA, at test facilities or at supplier premises.Write up subsystem Operations Manual.Support In-Orbit Test (IOT).Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering in relevant field with 7+ years of relevant experiencePrevious design and test experience with LEO/MEO satellites and Power sub-systemsUnderstanding of the space environment and orbit mechanicsStrong understanding of aerospace systems and engineering fundamentalsDemonstrated capability to test systems and resolve problemsHands-on individual who can lead all systems integration processesExperience with qualification and acceptance testing of new designsHigh degree of attention to detailDemonstrated capability to efficiently work with little to no supervisionAbility to distill complex problems to fundamentals to solve with analysis, similarity, or creativityDemonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills in English; knowledge of French will be considered favorablyExperience leading and coaching a technical teamSupport the spacecraft operations team in critical phasesSpecial ConsiderationsSuccessful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.BenefitsMDA provides competitive compensation and benefits packages for its employees at all locations.
