The HSE Specialist is a reliable and knowledgeable resource for workers, supervisors, foremen, managers and executives to provide support, advice, inspections, training, document management and hazard identification.Duties And ResponsibilitiesFacilitating safety-related education trainingOn-site engagement to influence commitment from all MN workers to comply with all HSE requirementsSupport and lead HSE for specific operational projects by providing industry experience and specialized knowledgePartnering with operations on HSE messaging and communications to MN employeesAnalyzing data from reports to review existing preventative programs and make recommendations for new preventative initiativesEngaging and collaborating with field leaders when doing site inspectionsAttending all HSE applicable meetingsSupporting operations and Senior Leadership in managing risk by:Analyse and interpret data to identify opportunities of improvementEnhancing our safe work procedures by utilizing lessons learnedAnalyze HSE training needs and provide recommendations of training to ensure competency and awareness of workersConsulting for operations on new project site specific safety plansAdvising on safety topicsIncident and claim managementQualifications and Requirements:Post-secondary education in a related field is an assetPrevious 3+ years experience working in the construction industry would be a strong assetCredentials to support skillsetDemonstrated competency with Microsoft office including: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointEffective communicator with the ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships with employees, subcontractors and other stakeholders at all levelsWell organized with an ability to effectively set and manage competing prioritiesSense of prioritization and drive to succeedMust be comfortable working within a deadline driven fast paced environmentResourceful, energetic and able to manage multiple prioritiesStrong team player with the ability to operate independently with confidenceDriver's license and the ability to travel to job sites with own vehicleStrong interest in growing career within the construction industryWe thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.At Modern Niagara, we recognize the value of fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization and are committed to eliminating barriers faced by members of equity-seeking groups (women, Indigenous, Black, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, and new immigrants) in the construction industry.
