Job Description

The Nuna Group of Companies is now accepting resumes for Lead Surveyor with large earthworks and construction projects experience.

Work locations / positions available:

1. Snap Lake Mine

Duties:

1. Mentor field surveyors and ensure consistent results.
2. Liaise with Project Managers and clients to coordinate field survey work.
3. Prepare and communicate field notes, sketches, checklists and digital data in required formats for Project Managers.
4. Responsible for performing and updating all aspects of the site-based quantity surveying/reporting to support project tracks within the project.
5. Calculate placed and remaining volume quantities for various work scopes.
6. Create design/layout files from IFC drawings, field sketches and collected survey data.
7. Review and update all drawings that relate to the survey for completeness, consistency and feasibility of layout to ensure that all dimensions between corresponding drawings agree.
8. Operate and maintain surveying equipment and ensure there is a supply of all surveying materials available on site.
9. Prepare documentation of all surveying activities performed.
10. Provide quality control by checking for accuracy at all control points, benchmarks, gridlines, survey marks, elevations and stakeout points. Monitor the site for correct elevations and locations.
11. Assist with conducting quantity calculations as required.
12. UAV data collection and processing. Experience with Agisoft and Global Mapper is considered an asset.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

1. Proficient with RTK GPS and Robotic Total Station, AutoCAD (Civil 3D) programs, laser level. Experience with Trimble is considered an asset.
2. Clear understanding of survey, blueprint reading, and GPS equipment and troubleshooting.
3. Finish grade experience to standard specification tolerances with sub-grade and aggregate placement.
4. Geomatics/Survey Technology Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Certified Engineering Technician (CET) or Certified Survey Technician (CST) preferred.

1. 5 years of Lead Survey / Party Chief experience in high-end construction layout services, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, control surveys, and monitoring surveys.
2. Proficiency with the various Microsoft Office applications.
3. Able to work at our remote worksites on a rotational basis.
4. Previous experience working on site in Northern Canada is considered an asset.
