This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

  1. Ensure setup of the projects is in conformance to Project Controls processes and procedures.

  2. Monitor, control and report Program and project performance through the whole program life.

  3. Lead a team of Cost Control professionals.

  4. Advise and propose solutions on matters that could prevent meeting the project objectives and provide recommendations to optimize the overall project cost.

  5. Oversee timely and accurate cost report updates at the end of each reporting period for the project control accounts to warrant proper monthly cost report.

  6. Trend actuals data and analyze forecast.

  7. Provide regular reports on project cost status and cost deviations and recommend remedial actions.

  8. Ensure proper commitment tracking and reporting for PO's.

  9. Provide regular reports on project time accumulation, analyze budget variances, recommend remedial actions.

  10. Ensure PMET reporting is accurate, current and all variances are explained and supported.

  11. Provide input to client reporting.

  12. Prepare forward-looking project and business cash flow forecasts.

  13. Support the Coordination by the project Control Managers of the change management process on the project.

  14. Lead the implementation of ECOSYS on the project.

  15. Interface with other project controls staff including other Cost Controllers and planners to maintain an integrated cost-schedule project control system.

  16. Interface with planners on the deliverables' progress to update estimate-to-complete.

  17. Present to team members as required.

  18. Collaborate with Financial Shared Services Centre (FSSC) to initiate, review and issue client invoices.

  19. Act as a Single Point of Contact for all Cost/Finance related enquiries for the project.

  20. Lead the support and preparation of Government funding application.

  21. Special assignments, ad hoc reports and other related duties as required.

The ideal candidate:

  1. University degree (Bachelors).

  2. Minimum 10 years Cost Control experience – up to Lead level.

  3. Ability to manage multiple requests.

  4. Ability to manage Programs (multiple projects and initiatives within a program).

  5. Mandatory - Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access database and Visual Basic programming in both.
