Job Description In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values of Island Health, patient and staff safety is a priority. This MRI Technologist position continuously improves quality and safety in all aspects. Under general supervision and reporting to the MRI supervisor, the MRI Technologist performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging special procedures including receiving and completing requisitions, preparing supplies, monitoring patients, and operating acquisition equipment. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Magnetic Resonance program and designation as a certified Technologist in Magnetic Resonance (RTMR) with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Three (3) years recent, related experience, including two (2) years MRI experience in an acute setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. CPR Certificate – Basic Life Support (BCLS) level (CDH and WCG only). Demonstrated knowledge of image quality assessment and diagnostic equipment procedures. Proficient skills with the Microsoft suite of applications (Word, Excel) and medical imaging computerized applications (PACS). Organize and coordinate workload, establish priorities, communicate effectively, and foster good public relations. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
