We work to solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver impact together.Role description: We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Toronto West Office. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and proven project coordination experience. This role involves working on transportation infrastructure projects, including municipal roads, MTO, LRT/BRT detailed design, transit planning, and traffic operations.We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods to address evolving demands from urbanization, climate change, and digitization.ResponsibilitiesLead the civil engineering design for municipal and MTO infrastructure projectsPrepare detailed designs, reports, and drawings for roadways, site grading, driveway access, and civil worksConduct technical reviews for municipal development applicationsLead and coordinate proposal, project planning, and executionManage project budgets, schedules, and client communicationsSupport permitting and approvals processes with regulatory agenciesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staffCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design, environmental, and construction disciplinesCoordinate with municipal, provincial, and utility stakeholdersAssist in the preparation of tender documents, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffsEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., TAC, OTM, MTO Design Standards)Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related fieldProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario (or eligible for licensing)Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure design, preferably on municipal and MTO projectsProven experience with roadway/highway design and site civil engineeringProficient in software tools including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoadsStrong understanding of applicable design codes, standards, and construction principlesExcellent organizational, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlinesExperience with cost estimating, design calculations, and technical reportingWhy Arcadis?We empower our people to be their best and believe everyone’s contribution matters.
