Job Title: Senior Azure Data Engineer / Azure Data Engineering Lead Type: Contract Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Ontario, Canada REQUIRED SKILLS: Azure Data Engineer Azure Databricks PySpark PREFERRED SKILLS: Hive Bigdata Data Warehouse Skills Needed: Azure Databricks (ADB) Azure Data factory (ADF) TD Cloud framework ETL/ELT framework Python PySpark Pandas Strong proficiency in ETL tools and technology. Hands on Experience in developing, debugging, testing and reverse engineering SQL Stored procedures in SQL server. Familiarity with version control systems (ex: Git/Bitbucket). Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Design and implement robust backend solutions using Python, .bat scripts, etc ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. Design and optimize SQL database schemas, writing efficient queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and storage. Take ownership of backend development tasks, identifying and resolving issues independently, and collaborating to address system integration challenges. Implement performance optimizations for backend processes and database queries, conducting regular monitoring for proactive maintenance. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for backend code, database structures, ensuring clear communication with team members. Work closely with other IT professionals to seamlessly integrate backend components within the overall system architecture.
