You will have an opportunity to grow your knowledge of project management and machinery design and leverage that knowledge to build strength in hygienic design of food processing equipment. CMP is constantly innovating and contributing to more advanced hygienic designs to exceed client needs. We engineer food safety in everything we do.Position ScopeWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to work with an established team of engineers and designers and provide support on current and upcoming projects.ResponsibilitiesDesign industrial freezers and food processing equipment systems based on Project Engineer and Design Engineer’s instructionsDevelop and maintain design drawings, programs, documents, machine function descriptions, processes, and design versions using AutoCAD, 3D modelling (Inventor/Solidworks) software in our FPS Autodesk Vault applicationCreate and input BOMs into ERPProvide technical support and liaise between internal field support and shop staff in all facets of design and executionEnsure all specifications & functions are met, optimizing cost and utilization of material and resources as part of the functional design in the freezer industryVerify the designs meet original requirements from concept, analysis, modification, manufacturing inspection, installation, and testing, to final commissioningWork in compliance with all FPS administrative, health & safety policies and standard operation proceduresPerform relevant job duties as assignedQualifications & AbilitiesPost-secondary education or above in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Fabrication Engineering or related disciplineProficient knowledge of using AutoCAD and 3D modelling (Inventor) softwareEGBC Registrant – P.Eng/EIT preferredWorking experience in food processing equipment design preferredTeam player, self-motivated, quick learner with a can-do attitude. Willingness to meet quick deadlines and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical, mathematical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrate effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiencesCMP (Charlottetown Metal Products) is an equal opportunity employer, and we thank you for your interest in the position.
