Job Title: Dietary Aide Status: Temporary Part Time and Regular Part Time Program: Food Services Shifts: 4 and 8 Hour Shifts; Days, Evenings and Weekends Schedule (Subject to Change) Location: Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Whitby, Bowmanville, Port Perry and Ajax-Pickering Wage Schedule: $26.440 - $27.710 per hour Posting Reference: 2500000857 We are currently hiring enthusiastic, skilled and hardworking Dietary Aides for regular part time and temporary part time positions at various Lakeridge Health sites. Duties And Responsibilities To provide and promote safety and well-being of clients, meeting or exceeding the patient's expectations in a service role. Meal and nourishment delivery and pick up, food assembly; ware washing; cleaning and sanitizing of work area and equipment; adhering to safe food handling and sanitation practices; storing supplies through established procedures; working effectively on a team; and other related duties as required. Qualifications Food Handler's training and certification is required. Previous food preparation and/or food service experience. Proven working knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to effectively interact with all levels of staff and public and provide good customer service. Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment. Physically capable of performing the duties of the position and tasks including bending, turning, lifting, walking and standing for long periods of time. Proven good manual dexterity. Working knowledge of standardized recipes and portion control is an asset. Knowledge in food service sanitizing work areas, equipment, dishes and utensils is an asset. Must be flexible in terms of availability for weekends, holidays, and for short notice call‑ins. Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy.
