This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality initiatives for all ABIDE Inc. products and processes. The Quality Manager/ QAP has the responsibility of setting up and implementing quality systems and strategies. The key responsibilities include personnel management and project management. In addition, he or she will make sure that quality risks are correctly assessed, identified and managed for all project management activities and product development procedures to meet customer expectations. Position will cover the quality operations at the production facility in Mississauga and farm operations, for cultivation and harvesting at ABIDE Farm in Campbellford.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Quality Assurance Quality Manager/ QAP is responsible for assuring the quality of the dried cannabis and cannabis products before they are made available for sale. Quality Manager/ QAP must investigate any complaint in respect to the quality of hemp/ cannabis and cannabis products, and if necessary, take corrective and preventative measures. Quality Manager/ QAP must approve all methods and procedures, batch records regarding the cultivation, harvesting, production, packaging, labelling and storage of the dried hemp/ cannabis and cannabis products prior to implementation. Experience with all phases of the product development lifecycle, including concept, design, implementation, verification and validation activities necessary for product commercialization. Must maintain records and ensure that any of the dry hemp/ cannabis and/or cannabis products that are sold and subsequently returned to the licensed producer are not reprocessed and/ or resold or provided again without a proper evaluation as for the quality and safety of the product. Performs drafting of SOPs, Specifications and Master Batch Records for all quality and Production./ Operations procedures. Must prepare and maintain the Annual Summary Report (ASR) containing a concise and critical analysis of all adverse reactions to the dried marihuana and cannabis products that occurred during the previous 12 months. Performs vendor qualification and supplier(s) evaluation. Oversee the equipment qualification, internal coding and calibration program. Manages the facility sanitation and pest control and programs. Performs materials release for all dry cannabis, raw and packaging materials. Acts as primary quality contact person with third parties and as qualified person for internal quality compliance matters. Conducts periodical self-audits and assists in Health Canada and OCS compliance audits. Handling of product complaints and deviations. Ensure tests for finished product are done according to specifications for product release. Performs annual product reviews and QA annual self-inspection. Implements recall procedures if necessary. Development, periodic review, revision and implementation of SOPs as required. Provide leadership to team through employee development and performance management as well as establishing a culture of Quality.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of B.Sc. Chemistry or other associated fields. Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control in the cannabis, pharmaceutical or related industry environment. Minimum 5 years’ experience the supervisory/management level. Minimum 5 years’ experience in RA/QA in the cannabis, pharmaceutical or related industry. Experience in dealing directly with Health Canada. Sound knowledge and application of Health Canada regulations related to cannabis. Effective problem solving and analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change. Demonstrates strong leadership skills and works both independently as well as part of a team.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS Excellent computer, documentation, communication and organizational skills required. Must have strong attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment. Previous Health Canada Security Clearance and work experience with a Canadian Licensed Producer (LP) is considered as an asset.
