Join a locally owned and operated store to help deliver health, beauty, and convenience services in your community, with a focus on keeping the customer at the centre of everything you do.Why this role is important?SUMMARY:Manage the operations of the Pharmacy during your shift, including providing consultations to customers and healthcare providers, practicing to the full scope of professional services, dispensing medication, and assisting in maintaining the dispensary.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Pharmacy and Customer ServiceAcknowledge all customers approaching the PharmacyOperate within federal/provincial, regulatory, and legal requirementsEnsure privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent managementProvide counselling on prescriptions and over-the-counter productsPractice to the full extent of your professional scope, including professional services, within your capabilitiesBe clearly identifiable to the publicEnsure accuracy and appropriateness of all dispensed prescriptionsCommunicate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate customer careMaintain records in accordance with legislation, standards, and policiesWorkflow and Inventory Management:Control access to the dispensary respecting inventory and patient confidentialityReview and maintain workflow queues dailyRegularly review 'will call' bins per SOPsIdentify expired inventory during stock reviewsOversee stock levels and medication orders from wholesalersEnsure compliance with documentation and control of controlled substances, including reporting to Health Canada and regulatory bodiesOperations:Maintain an appropriate image at entry/pickup stations, counselling areas, and workstationsParticipate in financial reporting as appropriateRespond to store communications via the in-store webFile incident reports for medication or privacy incidents involving customers or staffExperience, Skills & Qualifications:Ability to think independently and make decisionsPlan, coordinate, delegate, and coach pharmacy colleaguesProven ability to drive business growth, lead by example, and support enterprise initiativesCommitment to exceptional customer serviceStrong customer relations skills and professionalismEffective problem-solving skills with experience in action planningPersonal computing skills and knowledge of pharmacy systems are assetsFollow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe work environmentComplete mandatory training and ongoing education as neededJ2WRTLJ2WRRXWhy work in a Shoppers Drug Mart store?Each store has an Associate-Owner, offering the benefits of working for a local business with the support of a national brand.
