If you’re looking for a place where ownership, collaboration, and creativity thrive, this is it.The OpportunityWe’re looking for an Intermediate Engineer who will be involved in all software development activities as part of an Agile team including estimating, sprint planning, software development life cycle activities, code reviews, research, deployments, and documentation creation. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality software that aligns with customer needs and requirements, technical architecture, development standards, and quality practices.Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware DevelopmentContribute as an engineer in an agile team, collaborating with technical and non‑technical team members, and working closely with database, back‑end, and front‑end stacks.Ensure software deliverables align with the technical architecture, development standards, and quality practices.Assist in building and executing integrated unit tests for all code modules.Develop well‑written, intent‑revealing code.Assist in ensuring observability of the team's code and products, and monitor them in a live environment, ensuring high availability and reliability.Produce thorough documentation outlining high‑level architecture, flow, sequence diagrams, blockers, risks, and other technical considerations as needed.Work on bugs that need immediate attention to unblock our customers.Teamwork & CollaborationParticipate in peer review activities.Participate in a learning environment through collaboration, shared knowledge, and leadership.Work within the agile team to gather production metrics and stakeholder feedback and use them to iterate and grow team projects.Mentor and guide junior developers.Collaborate with senior developers to work on features of a big project.Collaborate with product managers to get clarity on project requirements.Key RequirementsStrong understanding of relational databases and their usage in software development.Comfortable with .NET.Basic understanding of REST APIs and their function in web development.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.Demonstrated working experience in software development, with a focus on delivering high‑quality software.Experience working on at least one feature end‑to‑end collaborating effectively with other developers.Experience working with front‑end frameworks such as React or Angular.Why You Should Be ExcitedFlexibility: Remote‑first role with teammates across North America and the UKGlobal Collaboration: Partner with experienced engineers in multiple regionsCompensation: Competitive salary, comprehensive health benefits, generous paid time off.Culture: Collaborative, async‑friendly, and innovation‑focused.We believe talent knows no borders, and we’re open to candidates from the UK and beyond.A Little Bit More About UsCertn is a growing global technology company reinventing the way organizations build trust in people with technology and AI‑backed background checks.
