Your Role:We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Power Division. Under the general supervision of a Team Leader or Manager, perform challenging and varied engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering. Participate in work planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.
Responsibilities:- Perform Conceptual and/or detail engineering of Industrial Electrical systems including power systems, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Perform equipment sizing, selection, and specification for various types of medium voltage and low voltage equipment.
- Provide input to drafters for preparation of various engineering drawings, such as: General Arrangements, Instrument Loops, Wiring and Connection diagrams, Bill of Materials (BOM), etc.
- Maintain effective customer contact to enhance working relationships.
- Assist Leaders and Manager with definition and monitoring of work scopes, deliverables, schedules and budget.
- Participate in walk-downs at the client’s facilities.
- Assist in providing responses to technical enquiries from clients, technical reviewers, and regulatory agencies.
- Preparation and/or verification of procurement activities and deliverables.
- Prepare purchase requisition, review technical content of supplier bids and technical submissions.
- Perform any required inspections as necessary for construction support.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical information and design documentation in accordance with the Company QA programs and manuals.
Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/ Electromechanical Engineering and PEO membership. 10 or more years of engineering experience in design, installation, maintenance, and operation of industrial electrical systems: conventional and state-of-the-art. Proven experience (10 years) working as an Electrical Engineer in the industrial or mining sector. The selected candidate will be proficient in creating specifications for MV and LV switchgears, switchboards, generators, motor starters and medium/low voltage equipment. Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems and implementing effective solutions. Experience with site construction support. Excellent understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements related to electrical systems in industrial or mining environments. Well developed communication, planning, and work organization skills. Ability to work in an integrated team environment, and to effectively interface with employees at all levels as well as external customers. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable and work under tight schedules in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
Additional Information:A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.) If you are considered for the position, clearance on all applicable background checks (which may include criminal, identity, educational and security) and professional reference checks is required. Some Tetra Tech positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law. These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
