Power Supply Engineer

OverviewAZAD is seeking a Power Supply Engineer for a full-time permanent employment position based in Charleston, TN. The annual salary range for this position is between $110K-$120K depending on related qualifications and experience.ResponsibilitiesManage and/or support capital invest and expense type projects within area of responsibilityCoordinate 3rd party service providersMaintain and operate the 161kV, 13.8kV, 5kV and 480V network including switch gears, transformers, capacitor banks and other equipment. Conduct and coordinate trouble shooting activities of Power Supply Equipment malfunctionsLead and oversee all Preventative Maintenance (ITPM) programs and tasks for Power Supply equipment. Prepare Switching orders for temporary changes for 'maintenance' and restoring back to 'Normal' OperationsMaintain and operate the emergency 13.8kV generators and Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) systemAct as point of contact to WACKER's power utility company; Create monthly energy reports; Analyze and review monthly power billingOwn and maintain electrical duct banks; Determine duct bank routing, design, and occupancy; Coordinate future usage of duct banks with the business partnersSubject matter expert for VFD and motorsMaintain and update the ETAP Software for the Site Power Supply model; Add new electrical loads and changes of electrical loads which connect to the Power supply grid into the modelActively manage and coordinate external repair of electrical equipment like breakers or other equipmentConsult and support capital projects executed by client's project engineering team regarding power supply topicsSupport the Plant Engineering Managers in providing safe operating conditions, regulatory compliance, availability and performance of various production unitsSupport availability of production units at required capacity and qualityConduct and/or coordinate debottlenecking activitiesDrive and support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality and costDevelop and/or support development of specifications, standards and codesWork in interdisciplinary and intercultural teamsRepresent Wacker's interests towards suppliers and contractorsCompile and provide reports related to area of responsibilityCooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering & Maintenance department, Operations and other service units with focus on achieving optimal results/solutions from a corporate/enterprise perspectivePerform all tasks and assignments in accordance with client's policies and proceduresMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required5+ years of experience in Power utility companies or industries with high energy demand like Pulp & Paper, Refineries, Chemical or Power plantsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressureCapability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirementsThorough understanding of engineering principles and construction practicesThorough technical knowledge in the field of power supply, electrical engineering and instrumentation incl. relevant regulations, standards, and codes; Knowledge in automation and controls (EI&C) is a plus.Team player attitudeObjective judgment and fact-based decision making approachStrong multitasking competencyAbility and willingness for domestic and international (mainly to Germany) travelExperience in Power Distribution Systems and Equipment from 161kVA to 480V161KV - Siemens GIS (Gas-insulated switchgear) , Southwire cable, 45MVA transformers13.8KV - Siemens NXAir medium-voltage (MV) switchgear, MV Bus Duct, Okonite cables480V - Low voltage switchgear (LVSG), WL breakersPower Control system (PCS) & network - Servers, Rugged communication equipment (Ruggedcom)Capacitor Banks - NEPSIRotary UPS - PillerSIPROTEC protection relaysPreferredETAP - power system modelDIGSI - SIPROTEC relay programmingSICAM - power supply controlSIGRA - Oscillograph viewing #J-18808-Ljbffr
