Fitch's North American Corporates Group is seeking a Senior Analyst / Associate Director for coverage of the Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals sector, either in our New York, Chicago, or Toronto office.

Qualitative credentials will weigh meaningfully in the selection of the candidate. A healthy sense of intellectual curiosity is critical, along with a demonstrated willingness and ability to attack and explain topics of analytical complexity. We'll Count on You To:

  1. Perform analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing credit quality of companies in the Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals sectors;
  2. Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models;
  3. Engage with industry management teams to gain insights and enhance analysis;
  4. Present analysis of companies to internal credit rating committees and participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates, as well as other related credit groups;
  5. Involve in communicating rating rationale to external audiences (primarily institutional investors, sell-side analysts and media) in meetings, conference calls, press releases and written research reports;
  6. Contribute to the writing of timely and effective research on topical issues.

What You Need to Have:

  1. Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other advanced degree a plus for the Associate Director title;
  2. CFA/CPA or CFA candidate preferred;
  3. 3-5+ years relevant experience depending on the title, some coverage or knowledge of the Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals sector a plus;
  4. Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience a plus;
  5. Expertise in Excel and Word;
  6. Excellent analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills;
  7. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
  8. Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change and work in a team-oriented environment.

  1. Some knowledge of and a keen interest in learning more about the Healthcare industries;
  2. Professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis and well-developed financial statement analysis skills;
  3. Desire to deepen their exposure to and understanding of the debt capital markets;
  4. A strong pattern of leadership and the ability to proactively and successfully interact with various stakeholders, both within and outside of the organization;
