OverviewThe successful candidate will work as part of MEMS Brownfield Assessment and Development (BAD) service group and support the Reclamation and Construction service group as required, in the preparation and execution of site assessments, remediation and reclamation projects. Assist in assessing projects according to BC Environment contaminated sites Regulation; and conducting Detailed Site Assessments, Stage 2/Phase 2 ESAs, Remediation, supervision of reclamation projects and technical report writing for clients throughout Western Canada. This full time position requires a combination of office and field work (20% office/80% field split) in a demanding consulting environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning, managing and implementing field programs, evaluating collected information; preparing professional reports, and ensuring quality assurance and quality control.Proactively seek mentorship from Senior Environmental Scientists to build skillset and competency with a desired outcome to be vetted as an Environmental Scientist/SpecialistEnsure all client safety requirements, reporting, and field execution expectations are met.File compilation, organization of field data, interpretation of laboratory results, maps, survey plans and air photos.Synthesize published and site-specific information to present a concise interpretation of the site conditions and develop a reclamation conceptual site model to assist in understanding and communicating key site issues (regional or local ecosystems).Field programs can include, but are not limited to, vegetation monitoring and maintenance, Stage 1/Phase 1 ESA site visits, detailed site assessments, pre-reclamation assessments, Stage 2/Phase 2 ESAs, undertaking groundwater monitoring and sampling for various facilities, remediation and reclamation projects.Complete file reviews and reporting of Environmental Site Assessments, including but not limited to remediation reports, detailed site assessment reports and reclamation certificate application compilation.Application of current regulatory criteria, specifically the 2010 Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities and Alberta Tier 1 and 2 Soil and Groundwater Remediation Guidelines, BC Contaminated Sites Regulation and BC ER Certificate of Restoration program.Working with contractors and accurate field cost tracking of expenses, contractors and timely reporting of change order needs.Working with senior risk assessment BAD staff to develop appropriate risk-based site management strategies.Communicate effectively with Project managers and internal personnel as required, including within multidisciplinary teams.Mentor staff on execution of field work (including remediation and reclamation projects, supervision of sub-contractors, data collection and field documentation, cost and expense tracking and daily field tickets, application of MEMS Safety Management System and Quality Management System on field work) and preparation of cost estimates and reports.Other duties as assigned.What You BringExperience in the execution and management of site assessments and reclamation, focusing on the oil and gas industry.Eligibility for membership in a relevant professional organization is required.Knowledge and experience with the 2010 Reclamation Criteria and Guidelines as well as the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Remediation Guidelines.Knowledge and experience with the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation and BC OGC Certificate of Restoration programKnowledge of the reclamation certificate application process and a strong understanding of agricultural, forestry and oilfield practices.Must be able to meet the requirements of site access as dictated by our clients, this may include pre-access drug, alcohol and fitness testingPossession of a valid, non-GDL Class 5 Drivers license.Other Knowledge And SkillsStrong understanding of agriculture, forestry and oilfield industry; including associated practices and sciences.Knowledge of reclamation certificate application process.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Experience driving, hauling a trailer and operating ATVs.Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and be able to work effectively in a multi‑disciplinary setting.Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail.Willingness to travel.Excellent safety attitude.MEMS Pay Transparency: British ColumbiaPay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):Salary Range(s)Northern BC - $25.00 - $40.00 for postings located in Northern BC, including Fort St. JohnThe final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.About MEMSMillennium EMS Solutions Ltd.
