Family Physician – Addiction Medicine We need 2 additional family physicians for an addiction medicine focused practice on Vancouver Island. No prior addiction medicine experience is required, though experience in ER or inpatient detox is a benefit. The clinic is located on the grounds of Canada's premier addiction treatment facility with 75 inpatient beds; patients stay an average of 60 days of treatment. The role adds primary care with admission and detox management for inpatients. Hours are flexible; extra work is available in the local community hospital or Victoria (40‑minute drive). The clinic provides primary care for patients, staff and residents of Cobble Hill, with virtual care for alumni. All overhead costs are covered by the center, significantly boosting income. Addiction medicine training will be provided on site by UBC clinical instructors, with support for achieving Canadian or American board certification. Onsite psychiatry services create a collegial environment. After‑hours on‑call is available but not required. Hospital privileges at Cowichan District Hospital are an asset but not a requirement.
