Litigation Associate (North York)

Job description

Our client, a growing boutique firm in North York, is looking to add a dynamic associate with over 3 years of experience in Civil and Commercial Litigation. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a proactive self-starter, and possess a stellar academic background alongside excellent communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and expanding team.

Your new role

In this role, you'll take on a hands-on approach to managing litigation files from start to finish, operating independently while collaborating closely with an experienced team. You’ll manage your own cases, while also contributing to complex matters alongside senior counsel. This position includes negotiating and litigating across a variety of general litigation cases, particularly those involving issues like tender processes, procurement, outstanding payments, deficiencies, liens, trusts, and instances of negligence. Additionally, you’ll play an advisory role, assisting clients in negotiation strategies and drafting necessary documentation to support their cases.

What you will need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you should have a minimum of 3+ years of post-call experience with a strong interest and proven knowledge in litigation, especially handling complex matters. You thrive under pressure, effectively prioritize, and consistently meet deadlines. In addition, you bring strong teamwork skills and are known for your trustworthiness, accountability, proactive approach, and positive work attitude. Confidence in your legal acumen and a passion for delivering impactful results for clients are essential, along with a commitment to achieving successful outcomes in challenging cases.

What you will get in return

This position offers significant career growth opportunities within a supportive team environment. The role includes a competitive compensation and benefits package, ample mentorship, and professional development. You'll gain exposure to a diverse range of complex litigation matters, ideal for advancing your skills and expertise.
