Field Clinical Specialist - Shockwave - Remote - Greater Montreal Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a bilingual (French/English) Field Clinical Specialist based in the Greater Montreal Area to join our Shockwave Medical Canadian Team. The role supports educational and case activities for physicians and hospital staff using the Shockwave Medical Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) technology, with potential involvement in clinical studies and data collection. Some travel may be required. Position Overview The Field Clinical Specialist is a visible role that provides educational and case support to physicians, Cath Lab staff, Interventional Radiology Lab Staff, and/or Vascular Surgery OR Staff within the assigned territories. Case support covers peripheral and coronary interventional procedures with Shockwave Medical IVL. The specialist may also contribute to clinical studies, including device training, case support, and ensuring timely data collection. Case support may be required to assist other territories at times. Essential Job Functions Physician and hospital staff training, and procedural case coverage to ensure the safe and effective use of medical devices. Meet the needs of internal and external customers with a sense of urgency and drive. Present clinical study training materials based on investigational plans to support safe and effective use of medical devices, including study protocol, instructions for use, core lab manuals and case report forms. Manage key study investigators; foster and maintain strong relationships with medical advisors and clinical leaders. Partner with colleagues to meet field business needs, including site retraining, data collection for timely database locks, and resolution of critical issues. Administrative activities including procedures training, territory travel management, and budgeting. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in business, science, nursing or related fields, or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years’ experience directly supporting interventional or surgical procedures within a hospital setting OR 1 year of industry, hospital-based life sciences, sales support experience. Candidates are required to be bilingual (French/English). Cardiovascular industry experience preferred but not required. Working knowledge of clinical research, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance guidelines for clinical trials. Experience working with regulatory agencies through clinical studies and market releases. Product knowledge including product vigilance and medical device reporting. High attention to detail and accuracy; computer skills (MS Office, word processing, spreadsheets). Finance and budgeting knowledge; good prioritization and organizational skills. Excellent critical thinking, influencing and negotiation skills; high energy and results-oriented; able to motivate and inspire others. Entrepreneurial, proactive attitude; ability to accept feedback and drive continuous improvement. Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams and make decisions with accountability. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with all levels of customers and management. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities; capable of working independently or in a team with flexible requirements. Travel is expected to be >50% of the time with remote work capability. Physical requirements: occasional prolonged sitting, ability to lift up to 40 lbs; work in air-conditioned offices and possibly non-temperature controlled warehouse spaces.
