Join to apply for the Veterinary Extern - General Practice role at NVA Canada An externship experience is an unpaid educational opportunity that allows veterinary students to gain hands-on clinical experience and understand the daily operations of a veterinary practice. NVA hospitals are supportive environments dedicated to excellent medicine and exceptional service to animals and their owners. If you're a veterinary student seeking a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive team committed to compassionate care, Animal Care Hospital of Williams Lake might be the right fit for you. Our progressive, multi-doctor hospital offers a wide range of services for all creatures great and small, including orthopedics, internal medicine, dentistry, and more. Externs work closely with supervising veterinarians to develop skills in patient history taking, physical exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, surgery, and medical management. They also have opportunities to enhance communication skills with team members and clients. Externship durations range from two to eight weeks, suitable for veterinary students in their second, third, or fourth years.
