Organization: Mercor Position: Visual Arts (2‑D) Criticism and Instruction Expert Referral Partner: Crossing Hurdles Type: Hourly Contract Compensation: $50–$75/hour Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided) Evaluate and critique digital artworks with professional insight into artistic intent, composition, and stylistic influence. Assess originality, technical execution, and contextual presentation quality, including lighting and digitization. Provide structured, evidence‑based feedback to help AI systems better understand and replicate artistic reasoning. Distinguish authentic, human‑made artwork from AI‑generated imagery through detailed evaluation. Collaborate asynchronously with research teams to refine datasets supporting creativity and authorship analysis. Requirements Strong professional experience as a visual arts instructor, curator, or art director. Demonstrated expertise in two‑dimensional media such as illustration, painting, photography, or digital art. Proven ability to critique artwork with depth, precision, and fairness. Strong written communication and analytical reasoning skills. Familiarity with digital art, portfolio presentation, and emerging AI‑generated art trends. A portfolio reflecting artistic competence and critical discernment.
