Location6660 Campobello Rd, Mississauga, ON L5N 2L9 CAN YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE We are looking for a Microbiology Lab Technician. Your mission will be to: Maintain the equipment files for the media preparation room and the records (service reports, calibration records, etc.) filed in a timely manner. Ensure that all the required information for the preparation via Autoclave or Masterclave for each batch of reagent and/or media is recorded on the designated Reagent Preparation sheet. Participate actively in the daily operation in the media preparation room. Receive and label materials in use properly in the media preparation room and follow FIFO rules when putting away and using materials and media. Prepare media and reagents by following the instructions as reflected in the relevant RF and procedure and the volumes indicated by the Analyst 2 and Team Lead. Adhere to the company’s policy for health and safety. Report accidents and incidents to the Team Lead, Lab Supervisor immediately. Strictly follow Biosafety/Biosecurity guidelines as reflected in CAM WI-00740 in the media preparation area. Communicate equipment malfunctions and breakdowns to the Team Lead and the Lab Supervisor. Participate actively in the training provided in the media preparation room. Help to train new staff in the operation of equipment and preparation of media as needed. Keep the personal training profile up to date. Perform other tasks as indicated by the Lab Supervisor. YOUR PROFILE 1 Year Fixed Term Placement QUALIFICATIONS Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), organizational skills and detail oriented. Good computer skills e.g. MS Excel®, MS Outlook®, LIMS. Energetic personality that can work independently in a multi-tasking fast paced environment. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
