The Clinical Specialist role supports operational excellence through quality standards to enable a seamless, positive, end-to-end patient journey. As the Clinical Specialist for a strategic clinic services program, you will ensure a professional, service-oriented work environment. The Pharmacist will provide holistic care to meet the emotional, psychological, informational, and practical needs of patients while supporting Neurology, Dermatology, Hepatology and Gastroenterology clinics across Canada. You will navigate the healthcare system and reimbursement through our HAVEN provider solution program, helping patients access life-changing medicines and supporting optimal patient care. The Clinical Specialist manages patient care, acts as the primary contact to assigned health care providers, and ensures patients have easy access to prescribed therapy.The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, eager to build efficient processes, curious, and bold in implementing best practices to improve patient care.A Day in the Life (What you will do here):Accountable and responsible for clinical and technical aspects of drug distribution, including prescription clinical review/verification, patient counselling, resolving drug-related problems, prescription adaptations/renewals, prescription processing, filling and checking medication.Provide exemplary customer service to clinic staff, nurses and physicians primarily by phone/email.Adherence to relevant guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, and regulatory requirements as set by the provincial College of Pharmacists.Perform HCP and patient registration activities according to protocols and departmental procedures.Process data entry activities of pertinent information received at different points of contact during the delivery of services.Coordinate with Sentrex Pharmacy to support refills and renewals where appropriate.Review patient files prior to treatment to capture medical history; document and maintain patient records.Maintain confidentiality of patient and corporate information; discuss with appropriate personnel only.Liaise with physicians’ offices, pharmacies, service providers, and other parties to provide coordinated service to patients and HCPs.Participate in ongoing internal and external continuing education activities.Develop and maintain professional relationships with health care professionals, reimbursement coordinators, private payers and patients.Billing prescriptions through pharmacy software (Kroll) ensuring documentation covers accounts receivable, dosing, third-party billing, clinic details, copayment management, and benefits coordination.Act as liaison between insurance plans and physicians to ensure necessary paperwork for coverage review.Understand and resolve third-party billing issues for high-dollar value products.Accurately enter data and dispense medications to ensure timely arrival.Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health care team providing oversight.Provide ongoing support for disease state or product-related questions; assist with enrollment, coverage renewals, and reimbursement support for physicians and patients.Read and review Canadian product monographs to understand each product being administered.Report and document Adverse Events as per Pharmacovigilance training requirements.Adhere to Sentrex policies and procedures; assist in developing and adhering to forms, policies, and work instructions to ensure safe handling, preparation, and administration of products.Other duties as assigned by the manager.What you need to ensure you are set up for success:Registered and licensed as a Pharmacist (RPh designation)1-2 years Pharmacist experience preferredPharmacy and Reimbursement experience requiredExperience with Kroll is requiredExperience with specialty medications and third-party billing issues is an assetKnowledge of third-party Insurance plans, special authorizations, and provincial coverageExcellent communication skills in English; French is an assetStrong computer skills in Windows; MS OfficeExcellent phone etiquette; highly organized with strong attention to detailAbility to self-manage time, prioritize, and multi-task to meet deadlinesAbility to perform all technical duties involved in dispensing medicationsHigh degree of independence and strong operations experience managing multiple prioritiesWhat makes you a great fit for this team:Commitment to providing high-level service to internal and external clientsAdaptable with a track record of success during growth and organizational changeProven ability to build trust and influence at multiple levelsEffective communication style; strong organizational skills and ability to build relationships with colleagues, management, and stakeholdersWhy join Sentrex?We value our employees.
