EHS Specialist

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a EHS Specialist within our Risk Managementteam to help support our Automotive business. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.As a EHS Specialist you will have the opportunity to support the EHS Manager with ensuring safety and environmental conditions are met to protect employees within a manufacturing setting. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by developing and delivering effective policies, procedures, auditing, training, communications, and educational materials to promote increased understanding and adherence to safe operating practices throughout the workplace. The EHS Specialist ensures compliance with company standards and government regulations. This is an on-site position at our branch in London, ON.So, what will you be doing as a EHS Specialist?Investigation of work incidents/accidents, workplace evaluations, acceptance testing of equipmentEnsure, verify and improve EHS compliance with internal and external requirements including a system of regular auditsInitiate and conduct training activities to enhance EHS awareness and ensure correct reporting in Safeguard systemReview and approval of new equipment regarding EHSInitiate and contribute to EHS improvement projectsLead with a “Safety First” approach, maintaining a zero-accident cultureMonitors work, accident prevention, and safe working environment across the businessFulfill assigned primary, secondary, and/or tertiary deputy/back-up roles as assigned and required on occasion by the businessTo be successful in this role, you’ll need:1-3 years of proven related professional experienceWork experience in a manufacturing settingAbility to work with others and respond to/investigate EHS incidents such as injuries, near misses, spills, releases, and complaintsAbility to work independently after being provided with clear direction or trainingKnowledge of safe work behavior and habitsGood oral and written communication skillsGood analytical skills needed to analyze and interpret data trendsProficiency in MS programsWhat to Do NextNow that you’ve had a chance to learn more about us, what are you waiting for Apply today and allow us the opportunity to learn more about you and the value you can bring to our team.
