Job overview: Millar Western Forest Product’s Slave Lake Pulp Division is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Maintenance and Engineering Manager. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be an integral member of the site’s leadership team and responsible for the mill’s preventative maintenance processes, operational reliability, capital project activities, and maintenance and repair programs. Responsibilities Lead preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives to enhance asset reliability. Manage operational reliability efforts ensuring optimal plant performance. Plan, coordinate and oversee capital projects and maintenance repair programs. Provide leadership and direction to maintenance teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with safety programs, including Partners in Injury Reduction and Work Safe Alberta initiatives. Ideal Candidate Engineering, Electrical, or Mechanical Maintenance background with proven experience in preventive and predictive maintenance, asset reliability, and project management. Several years of progressively responsible management experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Background in pulp manufacturing and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Track record in continuous‑improvement and performance‑management programs (assets).
