Engineering Operations Technician

The Building Operations Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The Building Technician serves as a technical resource to support Amazon within its data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission‑critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. Building Technician’s are also tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities. Building Technician’s are Amazon’s front line respondents for electrical and mechanical issued affecting Amazon's availability. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand‑by diesel generators and related fuel systems, switchboards/switch‑gears, UPS’s, PDU’s, AHU’s, CRAHUs, CRAC's, pumps, motors, VFD’s, and building automation systems. This position requires that the candidate selected obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada. About the team AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
