The Web and Mobile Applications team at Avidbots builds and maintains software that integrates our robots with our platform, facilitates data streaming to support teams, and enables remote management of our robots. Our ideal candidate has a proven track record building production-scale software and experience in the use of modern frameworks for building web and mobile applications. You are a self-driven person who models a strong commitment to excellence and has a passion for solving complex challenges, building innovative solutions, and delivering high performance software.Reporting to the Manager, Software Development, Web and Mobile, you will work closely with cross-functional teams in R&D to develop state-of-the-art software and systems for our fleet of autonomous robots. This role is critical in enabling our stakeholders and customers to manage and understand how our robots are performing, and supporting our mission to revolutionize the cleaning industry with cutting-edge robotic solutions.This is a hybrid role base 1-3 days per week in our Kitchener officeKey Responsibilities:Develop systems with RESTful APIs and UI components to support our SaaS productsCollaborate with other developers to design, build, and release scalable and efficient full stack servicesDesign and implement technical solutions that meet product requirements and integrate seamlessly with existing systems across the full stackWrite high-quality, testable, and well-documented code for both frontend and backend componentsParticipate in code reviews and provide mentorship to other team members on full stack development best practicesStay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in both frontend and backend developmentLead and actively participate in backlog grooming sessions, ensuring clear priorities and accurate estimations for full stack development tasksTake ownership of technical epics, driving them to completion through effective planning, delegation, and cross-functional collaboration across frontend and backend teamsProactively identify and address technical debt and potential areas for system improvement in both frontend and backend systemsCreate and manage technical tickets, ensuring clear documentation and timely resolution for both frontend and backend issuesAssist in troubleshooting production issues across the full stack and provide timely solutionsContribute to architectural discussions and decisions, ensuring the scalability and maintainability of the full stackRequired Qualifications:5+ years of professional software development experienceFrontend: React, Remix, Angular, and NextJSBackend: NodeJS, NestJS, gRPC, Kafka, and MQTTDatabase: SQL, No-SQL, and Cloud DatabaseOrchestration: Microservices, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and/or AnsibleCloud/DevOps: CI/CD, Integration Tests, and Cloud Environments (AWS, Azure)Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldSuccessfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that may include criminal/civil background checksPreferred Qualifications:Familiarity with Go, C#, XML, Flux, and React NativeFamiliarity with observability tools and disaster recovery tools (Grafana, Datadog, or Dynatrace)Experience with agile development methodologiesExperience mentoring and coaching junior and intermediate developersStrong communication and collaboration skillsPassion for learning and a commitment to professional developmentApplicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada for any employerAvidbots is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce.
