Experience being part of a high‑performing team with a fulfilling career in property management with FirstService Residential.Job OverviewAs a Building Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the building to ensure an excellent living experience for tenants. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think quickly on their feet, have excellent task and time management, problem solve and create great relationships and a sense of community within the property.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform daily inspections of the property (interior/exterior), and complete minor maintenance such as power washing and building repairsSchedule, meet, and oversee trades and other contractors in the building, ensuring projects are completed in a proper and timely mannerConduct administrative and clerical functions such as managing social room bookings; maintaining records, directories and manuals; distributing and controlling entry fobs; collecting/recording parking and other fees, post notices and enforce Strata bylaws and rulesReport building issues and incidents in writing to Strata Property Manager and Strata CouncilRespond to residents’ queries & requests promptly and professionally and schedule resident move‑ins/outsRespond to emergencies, assist first responders and execute emergency protocol as neededPerform monthly security inspections & procedures (generators, fire alarm, others) as requiredWork closely with and assist the Strata Property Manager, the on‑site cleaning and front desk team, and Strata Council to ensure a smooth building operationShifts AvailableMonday to Friday: 8am to 4pmSkills and QualificationsAt least one year of Building Manager experience in residential strata or commercial setting is requiredExcellent written and oral command of the English language is necessary in order to be able to work efficiently and communicate appropriately with our clients and our support staff.Strong customer service and communication skills, verbally and in writing with residents, clients and support staffExperience with maintaining building and mechanical systems, and basic handyperson skills are strong assetsPossess solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, internet, e‑mail and messaging/text proficiency)Experience with new development is an asset.Mandarin/Cantonese speakingPhysical RequirementsAbility to patrol the property including stairs, hallways, interior, and exteriorAbility to work in different environmental working conditions (wind, heat, cold, rain, etc.)Ability to lift 50 poundsAbility to use standard building equipment (vacuum, climb a ladder, mop, handyperson tools for minor maintenance, power washer, leaf blower, etc.)What We OfferAs a full‑time associate, you will be eligible for employer‑paid health & dental, paid time off benefits, access to our Employee Assistance Plan, and Tuition Reimbursement Program.Compensation$25 – $29 per hourPlease ensure to include a copy of your resume, highlighting your qualifications and the reasons why you think you would be a good fit for our company.
