DRA Global is a diversified, global engineering, project delivery and operations management group with an impressive track record spanning over three decades.As the Partner of first choice, DRA Global aims to attract, recruit and retain the best talent in the marketplace; in doing so we have developed a solid organizational culture focused on Safety, Integrity, Courage, Innovation, Trust and People to ultimately deliver the best results for clients.DRA Global is seeking a Junior Civil Designer for the Toronto or Montreal office.The responsibility of this role is to carry out civil engineering design and production of 3D models and specifications related to civil works and translate engineering requirements and definitions to prepare 2D drawings, in accordance with the DRA CAD Standard, related to civil and concrete works such as road networks, terrace / grading bulk earthworks, potable water systems, sanitary and storm water systems and storage ponds, into practical, fit for purpose drawings, within specified quality and time parameters.Main Responsibilities :Drafting / DesignPerform civil engineering design and information for drafting, with Civil 3D and AutoCAD, related to site plan projects, including roads, grading design, storm and sanitary design, and stormwater management modelling.Complete design calculations based on engineering principles, meeting applicable regulatory codes and standards, and convey design information to CAD staff for drafting completionInterprets flow diagrams, design packs or conceptual designs and prepares drawings.Produce 2D drawings from Civil 3D models to DRA standards.Prepare engineering drawings to specified standards.Produce engineering technical reports and plans for studies and detail designs.Prepare estimates for material take-offs including reports from software.Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.QualityEnsure quality of drawings are of a high standard through the correct usage of software.Ensure quality standards adhered to by checking accuracy of work before it gets issued.Produce drawings accurately according to the client, drawing office and applicable standards and codes for the project.Follow specific drawing office quality assurance and procedures.CommunicationCorrectly interpret instructions from Civil Lead.Liaise and co-ordinate with the Civil Lead and project design team to ensure adherence to project and client requirements and schedule.Identify changes and report to Civil Lead.Ensures effective communication on hand-over of designs and drawings and supporting information.Communicates in a respectful and professional manner.Experience required1-3 years of design in mining and infrastructure projects, advantageousDegree or Diploma and the required CertificationWe value diversity and the benefits it brings to achieving our objectives, enhancing our reputation, and attracting, engaging, and retaining talented people.
