Job Description:

Job Location: Canada (Hybrid) the closest Capgemini office.

As Sr Data Engineer, you will work on one of the world's largest social media platforms, which deals with a few petabytes of data coming to the system daily. You will chip in as part of an R&D self-organized team working in a complicated, innovative environment for our client.

Investigate, build, and implement the solutions for many technical challenges using groundbreaking technologies, including building/improving Data processing platform enabling work of software used by hundreds of millions of users.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with multi-functional partners to collect data requirements.
  2. Develop data pipelines using Python to import data into Snowflake.
  3. Ensure that assigned area/areas are delivered within set deadlines and required quality objectives.
  4. Provide estimations, agree on task duration with the manager, and contribute to project planning of assigned area.
  5. Analyze scope of alternative solutions and make decisions about area implementation based on experience and technical expertise.
  6. Report about area readiness/quality, and raise red flags in crisis situations which are beyond their AOR.
  7. Resolve crisis situations within their AOR.
  8. Initiate and conduct code reviews, build code standards, conventions, and guidelines.
  9. Suggest technical and functional improvements to make valuable contributions to the product.
  10. Constantly improve their professional level.
Required Skills:
  1. University degree in Computer Related Sciences or similar.
  2. Demonstrated ability as Data Engineer in creating data pipelines for a cloud data warehouse.
  3. Strong Python and SQL skills.
  4. Experience building data pipelines in Python.
  5. Experience with extracting data from REST APIs and ingesting it to a cloud data warehouse.
  6. Experience working with S3 buckets and writing DAGs on Airflow.
  7. Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering standard processes.
  8. Effective communication, collaboration, and social skills.
  9. Result-oriented approach.
  10. Good English (oral & written) and communication skills in general.
  11. Experience in AWS.
